The Club is now in a position to invite new members to register for the upcoming season, we will start our surf club on Sunday 10th May 2020 late afternoon after the surf school has closed, and every Sunday until October.
We are proud and excited to be launching the Welsh Surfing Federation Junior Surfer Scheme.
This 5 level award scheme is designed to develop junior surfers between the age of 7 and 17 years old, providing a national standard of surfing in a safe and structured progression leading from grass roots to advanced and competitive level.
It will be a platform to provide long term athlete development for those surfers who wish to progress after level 5 to regional and national training.
We will be based at the WSF surf school at Hillend, LLangennith and will also use LLangennith Village Hall for land based activities/first aid training.
The aim of the club is to become a hub for the surfing community of The Gower and to create an environment that encourages teamwork, social interaction and personal wellbeing along with a sense of environmental and social responsibility .
It will encourage, support & develop surfing, with coaching and mentoring being available in club sessions.
Lifesaving and first aid skills will also be introduced and practised so that whenever club members are in any environment where those skills are required, they will be confident and competent in their ability to help people .
Social events will be held to build a sense of community and belonging.
